What sets the Argyle Diamond Mine apart is its exclusive production of coloured diamonds particularly the world - famous pink diamonds. Among various coloured diamonds found around the world, pink diamonds are incredibly rare, accounting for less than 0.1% of all diamonds ever discovered
The Argyle Mine, however, has become synonymous with pink diamonds, producing over 90% of the world's supply. This unique concentration has established the Argyle Mine as the primary source of these exquisite gems.
Following nearly four decades of operation, the Argyle Diamond Mine, owned by Rio Tinto, reached its depletion in 2020. This significant event impacted on the global supply of pink diamonds, reducing it by more than 90%. Consequently, pink diamonds have emerged as one of the rarest and most valuable gems in the world .
